A Trip To Labuan Bajo Part one

Hi Go Mad-ers!

Well, hello after a long time not posting anything along the year.

Couldn't imagine that this year would be so tough. Got my most hurtful break up so far on the early year, cancelled all travelling plans along this year, couldn't meet my boyfriend (hee I got a new one aready lol), cancelled all business trip plans at work, and anything.

But yes, let's hope that this pandemic COVID-19 gone soon, scientist and doctors could find the best vaccines/medicines for this virus. And hopefully you're all be healthy and happy always!

Anyway, I know that it might be not relevant to talk about traveling soon, but let's just keep it as your next vacation destination while all the travel restriction or border opens.

As I mentioned on the title, I would like to share my trip to Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, last year. Why I still want to review about this after a long time? BECAUSE IT's SOOO BEAUTIFUL OMG. I know as Indonesian, we have lot of beautiful places to visit and this one is one of the most place with breathaking view that I've ever seen on my entire life. So this is my story begin..

Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara? Is that the place where we can see Komodo Dragon?

Yup it is! Labuan Bajo, or mostly people more familiar with "Komodo Island" located in the next West Nusa Tenggara (Lombok Island), It's only take 15-20 mins flight from Lombok, or around 30-45 mins from Bali. Or also there's a boat tour package from Lombok (Gili Terawangan Island) to Labuan Bajo if am not mistaken, it cost around $200 or similar with IDR 3 Mio, but will took 4 days trip, so not recommended if you have a sea sick problem like me.
I was took flight from Jakarta - Lombok, then Lombok-Labuan Bajo (LBJ), we have direct flight from Jakarta, but I was want to spend sometimes at Lombok so I flew from there. Ticket price around $20 I guess, but just a tips, you might be save your money from now if you want to get there next time because I assume there might be a bit (or could be more) increase on the flight ticket along with the tour package, hotel price, and so on because the business need to recover after a long time break caused by pandemic. (Better be ready from now rather than late right? ha.

What to do in here?

1. An unforgettable island-hopping

Yes, it's nusa dude, nusa mean island according to Indonesian dictionary, so you'll live surrounded by water. There's a lot of beautiful and iconic island in LBJ that you could visit, such as;

  • Kelor Island
Kelor Island, Labuan Bajo

Kelor island is one of the most popular island in labuan bajo, the view was breathtaking, you could see another island from the top point and the blue clean sea water. But the hikes track is a bit challenging and rocky, so I recommend you to use hiking sandals, or unslippery shoes.

  • The Most Instagrammable Island: Padar

Padar Island, East Nusa Tenggara

Another must visit island is Padar island. I hate the hundreds stair way to the top but the view....... damn, feel like I want to live in there forever cause it's insanely beautiful. You could see three different beach with different colors of sand (brown, white, and the special pink) with the blue ocean surronds.

Padar Island, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia
Bonus: You could also see lot of deers and maybe snorkeling as well on the Padar beach.

  • Rinca Island

Rinca Island, NTT

Rinca island is one of the island or national park where you can see the biggest also oldest lizard in the world. Here you cloud choose 3 choices of komodo trekking lengths, the short track, medium, and longest. Each track has meeting point with beautiful scenery (again). Trust me, Labuan Bajo will be one of the best destination you've ever visited, because they rich of beautiful sceneries, whether in the land also the under the sea.

Komodo in Rinca Island

  • Komodo Island
    Komodo Island, Indonesia
This is the island where the biggest population of Komodo dragons lives (larger popolation of komodo dragon rather than at Rinca Island). You might be wondering why you have to visit here as well if you already visit Rinca island. The answer is because here the Komodo Dragon size is bigger than in Rinca island, like could be 2 times bigger hahaha. But to be honest, I prefer to go to the Rinca island because the scenery there better than here.

Oh btw the island hopping cost IDR 500K - IDR 7000K it depends on the length of tour you take (daily, night on boat, private boat with private schedule) and also the type and boat facilities.

Komodo Island

I was took a private daily island hopping one day you could visit 3-4 spots, includes private boat, meals, so much and various kind of snacks, snorkeling equipments, tour guide, komodo ranger, etc except tip for Komodo ranger and tour guide.

So that's the first part of my recommendation, still curious what else you can do here? Wait for the second part :p
